Myths and legends of India are visceral, universal stories that are enjoyed by modern audiences. Classical Indian dance, music, and visual designs express a scope of artistic and spiritual experience that extends from the intimate to the infinite. Come join Rangoli Dance Company as Artistic Directors Malathi and Lakshmi Iyengar unite their creative forces and evocative choreography for this exciting journey!
Choreographer MalathiIyengaristherecipientofthe2013C.O.L.AChoreographyFellowshipfromtheCityofLos Angeles and the 2010 Lester Horton Award for Outstanding Achievement in World Dance for her choreography ‘Shivaya’. Iyengar is a recipient of numerous awards for her choreographic works and is recognized as a Master Artist of Bharatanatyam dance by the Alliance for California Traditional Artists.
Established in 1985, The Rangoli Foundation celebrated a significant milestone of 25 years of creativity and artistic excellence in 2010. In recognition, the Los Angeles County Arts Commission and City of Los Angeles Cultural Affairs Department have honored Rangoli Foundation with a Certificate and Resolution.
