Classical Indian dance, music, and visual design express a scope of artistic and spiritual experience that extends from the intimate to the infinite. The concert features “Bharatanatyam” & “Kuchipudi” (Classical dances of India) to enact stories. India is a storehouse of myths and legends and the numerous deities in the Hindu Pantheon are considered manifestations of the Supreme Spirit, which can take any form any time.

Come join Rangoli Dance Company as Artistic Directors Malathi Iyengar and Lakshmi Iyengar unite their creative forces and evocative choreography for this exciting journey!

Choreographer Malathi Iyengar is the recipient of the 2013 C.O.L.A Choreography Fellowship from the City of Los Angeles and the 2010 Lester Horton Award for Outstanding Achievement in World Dance for her choreography ‘Shivaya’. Iyengar is a recipient of numerous awards for her choreographic works and is recognized as a Master Artist of Bharatanatyam dance by the Alliance for California Traditional Artists. Established in 1985, Rangoli Foundation has been honored with Certificates of Resolution by Los Angeles County Arts Commission and City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs.
