A personal Note from Malathi Iyengar:

Our parents Shaarada Mani Chalan and Venkata Chalan requested music composer Rajkumar Bharathi to compose a Varnam in praise of Lord Sreenivasa, their family deity.

They were able to realize their wish of seeing their granddaughter Lakshmi Iyengar perform the Hemavathi Varnam in 2002 in Los Angeles.

It gives me immense joy to share this special music with you.
